The ever popular Enzo Restaurant, Camden’s landmark Italian eatery, is celebrating its 20 year anniversary on September 18, 2006. Owner/managers Thierry Marillier and Paolo Traina, are marking the event with a VIP cocktail party for 200 guests including local MP Hon Pat Farmer, VIP guests, local business leaders and a number of loyal customers. In an industry where longevity is the exception rather than the rule, particularly in regional areas, Enzo continues to shine, increasing its popularity with every year. So what is the Enzo secret to success? According to Sicilian born Paolo Traina, who is also head chef, the combination of simplicity, consistency and accessibility has proved a winning formula with both locals and tourists. “Our aim from the start was to create a restaurant with a warm and friendly atmosphere, offering genuine Italian cuisine at affordable prices” says Paolo, “With both an a la carte restaurant and the Pizzeria, we offer the choice of either formal dining or a more casual family setting which suits our range of customers perfectly.” It’s not just the locals who sing Enzo’s praises, the restaurant has been widely recognised by both the restaurant industry and business community. Enzo has won the Macarthur’s Small Business Award no less than five times as well as a finalist for 13 consecutive years. It is also a four time winner of the Restaurant & Catering Association’s Best Restaurant Award (South Coast region), winner of the American Express Award for Best Italian Restaurant in N.S.W. and the 2005 Community Business Award. (Cumberlands Newpapers) Maitre’d Thierry Marillier, said whilst the awards are a terrific acknowledgement, it is the loyalty of the customers that keeps Enzo flourishing, along with a loyal and talented staff. He is extremely proud of Enzo’s dedicated staff, some of whom have been with the restaurant for almost twenty years. “We are very proud of the fact that Enzo’s is like one big happy family and a lot of that credit goes to our terrific staff”, said Thierry. “Our reputation has been built on the great food, friendly and gracious service and providing a warm, inviting atmosphere where our customers always come first.”
